Michelle Glidewell

Michelle Glidewell is settled in her life as a retired grandmother, but what came to the surface very quickly from interviewing her was how fiery of a life she lived. her early years were forged in the remnants of a world war. And that aftermath stayed with her and inspired the courageous approach sh took the her life's endeavors. She moved to the United States as a young adult and in many ways followed the normal paths of gaining and education and getting married and starting a family. However, her ability to break out from the boxes placed on her showed up in her passion for martial arts, a very unorthodox hobby for a young woman living in Texas in the 1960s. In this collection, she expound on her post-war early childhood and the formation and development of her love for martial arts.
